ELECTED AS CHAIRPERSON-ELECT OF THE
CONSTRUCTION AND PUBLIC CONTRACT LAW SECTION
OF THE STATE BAR OF WISCONSIN



MILWAUKEE, WI
– von Briesen & Roper, s.c., announced today that Shareholder Roy E. Wagner has been elected the Chairperson-Elect of the Construction and Public Contract Law Section of the State Bar of Wisconsin. The purpose of the Construction and Public Contract Law Section is to bring together members of the State Bar of Wisconsin who have a special interest in the fields of construction and public contract law; to encourage communication and exchange of ideas among attorneys practicing in such fields; to participate in the presentation of educational seminars on construction and public contract law; to further the development and improvement of construction and public contract law by commenting, where appropriate, on proposed state and federal legislation; and to provide information on construction and public contract law through meetings, programs and publications.


Wagner also chairs the Construction Law and Litigation Section of von Briesen & Roper, s.c. His practice focuses on construction matters including assisting design professionals, contractors, developers, and owners in facilitating their projects and solving their legal disputes. He utilizes mediation, arbitration and litigation as appropriate to finalize dispute resolutions and has acted as both arbitrator and mediator.
Wagner is a member of the American, Milwaukee and Waukesha Bar Associations, and the State Bar of Wisconsin. He lectures regularly to lawyer and trade groups on construction practices. In 2006, Roy received the Whitefish Bay Distinguished Volunteer of the Year award for his work as the Chairman of the Architectural Review Commission and for upgrading the Municipal Design Guidelines. Wagner is featured in the December 2006 issue of The Wisconsin Law Journal as one of the Top Construction Lawyers in Wisconsin.

Wagner received a J.D. in 1978 from Marquette University and a B.A., with Distinction, in 1975 from the University of Wisconsin. He resides in Whitefish Bay, WI, with his wife, Ginny, and their children.
