Andy is the firm’s partner in charge of professional practice as well as the lead partner in the firm’s not for profit and employee benefit plan practice.
In his professional practice role, he is responsible for the firm’s compliance with professional standards, quality assurance, peer review and overall practice systems. His client responsibilities focus on not for profit organizations where he provides a wide range of services including assurance, tax and consulting. Andy has assisted not for profit clients in improving how they communicate not only their financial information but also their mission and program achievements to their current and potential stakeholders. He has worked with a wide diversity of not for profits including voluntary health and welfare organizations, public and private foundations, cultural organizations, trade associations and various other organizations. He has also been involved in a wide variety of litigation matters primarily involving accountant’s liability issues.
Andy has been actively involved in both professional, business, community and not for profit organizations. Professionally, he is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and both the New Jersey and New York Societies of Certified Public Accountants. He is a member and past chair of the Not for Profit Interest and as a member of the Auditing Standards Interest groups of the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants. He has also been a lecturer at various continuing education seminars. He is past chair of JHI Association, a worldwide association of accounting firms and was currently serving his fifth term on the Americas Regional Management Committee and as chair of the world wide Conference Content Committee and the Not for Profit Interest Group. Andy is a Director and current Treasurer of the Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey. In his community, Andy has served as a member and chair of both the Pompton Lakes Board of Education and the Zoning Board of Adjustment and is currently chair of the Planning Board. He is also currently vice-chair of Youth Education in the Arts, whose goal is to teach life skills through the performing arts. He is also a past member and treasurer of the New Jersey Devils Fan Club, and a past chair and board member of Barnett Hospital in Paterson, NJ.
Andy graduated from The George Washington University in Washington, D. C. where he received a BBA in Accounting. Prior to joining the firm in 1984, he was a partner in Grant Thornton which he joined in 1970.
