Brescia - "The Lioness of Italy" - Home to New TIAG Member Studio Nassini & Associati

From it's founding during the bronze age, through its absorption into the Roman Empire under Julius Ceasar, and up until its integration into the Kingdom of Italy in the mid-19th century, Brescia was a thoroughfare for foreign troops who periodically pillaged the area now known as Lombardy.  But in 1849, Brescian revolutionaries rebelled and resisted foreign occupiers for ten dramatic days, earning  the city the nickname, “Lioness of Italy.”  That vital spirit is now evidenced in the commercial and industrial activity so ably served by TIAG's newest member, Studio Nassini & Associati.  Studio Nassini's entry into the TIAG ranks will also be a reunion with many of the TIAG members who are former members of BRI.  The is a firm partnership of qualified independent chartered accountants, with expertise in company consultancy, tax matters, commercial law, administration and contracts.  For more information about Studio Nassini, refer to the Firm Profiles section of this website.

Frankfurt: The Birthplace of International Banking Now Hosts an Addition to TIAG and TAGLaw

In the middle of the 18th century, international banking was born in Frankfurt-On-The-Main in Germany when Mayer Amschel Bauer changed his name and founded the House of Rothschild.  Now, in the opening decade of the 21st century, GGV Grützmacher / Gravert / Viegener has become a boundary-spanning member of The International Accounting Group (TIAG) as well as TAGLaw, one of the top five legal alliances in the world.  Founded in 1974 by Dr. Rolf Grützmacher,  the firm is a multidisciplinary enterprise  with lawyers, auditors, tax consultants and notaries which has grown (without acquisitions) from the original two partners to 17 equity partners staffing offices in Frankfurt, Hamburg, Leipzig, and Paris.  For more information about the firm, refer to the "Firm Profiles" section of this website.

Intercura: Willkommen auf der TIAG

In the middle of the 18th century, a great Viennese tradition began with the founding of the Vienna Opera, which now hold the record as the longest continually operating theatrical company in the German-speaking world.  A century later, the opera found an elegant home near the center of the newly expanded city, and a century after that the opera gained a new neighbor on historic Boesendorferstrasse -- Intercura Treuhand und Revisionsgesellschaft m.b.H.

Founded in 1970, the firm has become one of the leading mid-sized firms in Austria.  Between them, partners Manfred Wagner and Friedrich Schnabel share several decades of accounting experience, with special expertise in tax issues, the core business for the firm.  In addition to his accounting credentials, Dr. Wagner is also a Doctor of Laws.

Dr. Wagner has stated that his primary purpose in joining TIAG is to offer international contacts to Intercura's clients.  We are confident that his new colleagues in TIAG will help him achieve that purpose.

TIAG Welcomes Portman International as its New Member for the Republic of Malta

Strategically located in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea, where its closest neighbors are Sicily, Tunisia, and Libya, Malta has historically attracted occupation by foreign powers.  Since gaining its independence from the United Kingdom in 1964, it has instead attracted occupation by foreign tourists who each year number three times the half-million permanent residents.

Given the limited domestic client base, it is not surprising that Portman International is primarily involved in international business transactions, with an international activity level close to that of the "big four" accounting firms, all of whom are  also present in the Republic.  Nearly two-thirds of their business falls in the realm of company secretarial, banking & trading support, and fiduciary responsibilities.

David Marinelli, a London-trained Certified Chartered Accountant with 25 years of experience, is the sole owner of the company which currently has a staff of more than 40 employees.  In his spare time, he is one of the founding members of the Gaia Foundation, a Maltese environmental group.  The company also sponsors a shelter for homeless women and children in Malta.

ISTANBUL’S UBD JOINS TIAG

A.S., the new TIAG member for Istanbul, is better known simply as UBD.  Not surprisingly, UBD, like Istanbul, is well connected to every part of Turkey with operations in four locations.  The firm was established with the participation of 14 under oath consultants (CPAs).  Each possesses a professional experience of 15-20 years and a vast knowledge and expertise in different industries.  UBD is a registered PCAOB firm.

UBD is an independent auditing firm, appointed as an Under Oath Consultancy firm by the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Finance. UBD’s mission is to provide guidance to investors who are launching new operations and/or changing strategies, rather than providing consulting services to industry and service sector firms for their existing financing strategies.

UBD has completed the training period required for the Independent Auditing of Insurance and Reinsurance Firms, presented by the Turkish Treasury and they have been appointed as an audit firm by the Capital Market Board of Turkey and the Board of Banking Regulation and Supervision of Turkey. Additionally, UBD has been appointed as an audit firm by the Board of Energy Market Regulatory Authority.
